SSC Stenographer Exam 2020: Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has announced the SSC Stenographer Exam Date 2020, for the recruitment of Stenographer Grade C and Grade D in various Ministries/ Departments/ Organizations in the Government of India and invites applications from the eligible candidates who have skills in stenography

Eligibility Criteria for SSC Stenographer Exam 2020
Nationality / Citizenship:
A candidate must be either:
- a citizen of India, or
- a subject of Nepal, or
- a subject of Bhutan, or
- a Tibetan refugee who came over to India, before the 1st January 1962, with the intention of permanently settling in India, or
- a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Myanmar, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (Formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia, and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.
A candidate belonging to categories (b), (c), (d), and (e) appointment will be given only after producing eligibility
certificate issued to him by the Government of India.
Stenographer Grade C: 18 to 30 years as on 01.08.2020 i.e. candidates born not before 02-08-1990 and not later than 01-08-2002 are eligible to apply.
Stenographer Grade D: 18 to 27 years as on 01.08.2020 i.e. candidates born not before 02-08-1993 and not later than 01-08-2002 are eligible to apply
Relaxation on the Upper Age limit is applicable as per rules
Educational Qualification: Candidates must have passed 12th standard or equivalent examination from a recognized Board or University with skills in stenography
Application Fee for SSC Stenographer Exam 2020:
Fee payable: Rs 100/- (Rs one hundred only)
No fee for Women candidates and candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), Persons with disability (PwD), and Ex-servicemen (ESM)
Fee can be paid through BHIM UPI, Net Banking or by using Visa, Mastercard, Maestro, RuPay Credit or Debit card or in cash at SBI Branches by generating SBI Challan.
SSC Stenographer Exam Pattern
SSC Stenographer Exam will be conducted in 2 different stages, Online Computer Based Examination and Shorthand Skill Test. The details are given below

Skill Test
The candidates who are shortlisted in the Computer Based Examination will be required to appear in the Skill Test for Stenography. The candidates will be given one dictation for 10 minutes in English or Hindi (as opted by the candidates in the online Application Form) at the speed of 100 words per minute (w.p.m) for the post of Stenographer Grade C and 80 w.p.m. for the post of Stenographer Grade D
